All three city schools tentatively have qualified for the playoffs, with Central (8-1) and Logan (8-1) in Division 2 and Aquinas (5-4) in Division 5.

Holmen (4-5) and Tomah (3-6) join Central and Logan in Division 2.

The WIAA reserves spots in its seven-division, 224-team playoff format for teams with winning conference records. Teams with .500 record still can qualify if spots remain on the brackets, and Aquinas and Tomah both finished 3-3 in the MVC.

Black River Falls (8-1) is the smallest school in the Division 3 field, and Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau (7-2) and Prairie du Chien (7-2) are Division 4 qualifiers.

Arcadia (7-2) is a Division 5 qualifier, and Melrose-Mindoro (5-4), Bangor (9-0) and Blair-Taylor (7-2) all made it in Division 6.

De Soto (9-0) is the only Division 7 qualifier in the circulation area.

First-round playoff pairings will be announced today and can be seen when released at www.lacrossetribune.com.
